A Greenwich resident was among four people killed in an early morning accident in New York, authorities have confirmed.
Authorities said Bruno Vaccarezza, of Cos Cob, was driving a rented 2013 Volkswagen Golf that crashed on the Sprain River Parkway in Greenburgh around 5:30 a.m. Sunday.
It’s unclear what caused Vaccarezza to lose control of the silver car, but authorities said it veered off the road near Underhill Road and drove along a grassy shoulder before hitting a bridge abutment at the overpass. It then burst into flames.
Vaccarezza, who had rented the vehicle from Enterprise Rent a Car in Stamford, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Also killed in the single vehicle accident were 20-year-old Norwalk resident Vincent Mendoza; Fernanda Gomez, 19, and Juliana Restrepo, 18, both from Port Chester.
