It took Greenwich resident Regis Philbin three years to sell his 6,000 sq-foot home at 38 Meeting House Road, now its new owner, Raymond and Yanina LaChance, want to tear it down and replace it with a 13,000 plus sq-foot mansion.
Regis’ wife, Joy, spent millions of dollars to renovate the French Normandy home they purchased from sports reporter Warner Wolf in 1992 for $2.5 million, but it sat on the market for years, mostly because of an unfinished Mediterranean mansion and a dilapidated home on the street, plus, a small portion of the land is in Stamford.
While their country home sat on the market, the former co-host of “Live! with Regis and Kelly” bought a $10 million mansion on Stanwich Road.
The LaChances’ submitted plans to Planning and Zoning to build a 13,505 sq-foot mansion with seven bedrooms, a movie theater, wine room and exercise room on the six acres. They are however keeping the swimming pool and tennis court.
