How crazy is this, the ex-wife f Law & Order producer Dick Wolf, has filed a lawsuit against her former financial managers because she was dumb enough to renovate a Greenwich home without permission from the homeowner.
After losing a lawsuit that the homeowner, Gary Ryder, filed against her for the illegal work, Christine is now trying to recuperate some of that money by suing her money manager.
In January 2005, Christine rented Gary’s six bedroom rundown mansion located at 345 Round Hill Road for $14,000 a month.
Without Gary’s permission, Christine went ahead and renovated the home. What Christine did not know was Gary is the kind of person who would sue you just because you looked at him the wrong way.
In court documents Christine said she changed the existing countertops because they were unsanitary, painted the kitchen cabinets and walls so that they would match her furnishing and linens. She said she changed the bathtubs, toilets and light fixtures, which I believe she did because Gary lived their with all those boys.
Gary sued Christine for doing unauthorized work to his home, and he won a $188,000 judgement against her, in addition getting his legal fees paid, which is over $300,000
Now, Christine is suing Anchin, Block & Anchin for $200,000 claiming that they gave her “disastrous” advice.
If Wolf had done her homework prior to giving Gary all that money she would have realized that the home had major problems, including water damage that went unnoticed for a very long time.
Now I know why Dick left Christine, she is just dumb. What kind of idiot would renovate a RENTED property to the degree in which she did without getting the homeowner’s permission?
