What an idiot!!!!

News reporter Ashley Morrison has forgiven her loser wife-beater husband, Rob Morrison.

According to Page Six, Ashley has forgiven Rob for choking and threatening to kill her.

The newspaper quoted a source as saying “they’re trying to move forward.  They’re working things out now that things have quieted down.  I think this was a wake-up call [for Rob].  He does seem different from the time when everything went down.  They seem pretty peaceful.”

The paper quoted another source as saying the couple spend almost every weekend at the Greenwich Water club with their 7-year-old son.

“They are there almost every weekend and sometimes Friday when Ashley gets off work….they are still together.”

What an idiot, it was just a few months ago that Ashley’s brother told Darien police that Rob that threatened to kill their son, Jack, if Ashley ever left him.

The newspaper says Ashley is now telling friends that Rob did not physically hit her even though they were both blooded when she called 911 in February.

NJ authorities filed lawsuit against Greenwich resident Robert Paris over travel fraud

$

Authorities in New Jersey, who accused a 59-year-old Greenwich resident of operating a Ponzi scheme, filed a lawsuit against him and his this week.

Acting Attorney General John Hoffman filed a lawsuit  against Robert Paris and his brother, Thomas Paris, of New York, claiming that the men violated New Jersey’s Consumer Fraud Act by defrauding customers out of more than $1 million through their Bloomfield, New Jersey-based  members-only travel company Crown Travel Services, also known as Club ABC Tours and ABC Destinations.

The brothers are accused of using members’ payments for futures to pay for earlier trips booked by other members.

“The two brothers who owned and operated these travel companies allegedly kept their business afloat by using money from new customers, to pay for trips booked by previous customers. When this scheme inevitably fell apart, hundreds of customers lost more than $1 million,” Hoffman said after filing the lawsuit against the men on Tuesday.

It is also alleged that after their company went belly-up, the brothers continued to accept money from members; money which authorities said was used by the brothers to maintain their lavish lifestyles.

Member Jane Riesel, of Fort Lee, who paid Club ABC more than $6,000 for a 10-day all inclusive tour of Italy not knowing that the company had already folded, said the first two days of her trip was fine but she soon learned that the rest of her trip was never booked or paid for.

“They knew that we were going to be stranded and they let us leave,” Riesel said.

Hoffman said the state of New Jersey “will use its full authority in an effort to recover the money [members] lost.”

He is asking that the brothers be compelled to give up all funds and property acquired through the alleged violations and to refund money.

Under the Consumer Fraud Act, a first violation is subject to a civil penalty of up to $10,000 and subsequent violations are subject to civil penalties of up to $20,000.  Each deceptive practice or advertisement is considered a separate violation of the Consumer Fraud Act.

The New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs received 230 complaints about the company totaling more than $1 million in losses.

Judge Judy’s District Attorney Son, Adam Levy, Suing Sheriff For $5 million

$

0

Putnam County District Attorney Adam Levy, who is the son of Judy Sheindlin, AKA, Judge Judy, is suing a New York sheriff for $ 5 million claiming that the law enforcement officer tried to tarnish his name in a child rape case.

Levy said Sheriff Donald Smith “maliciously attempted to destroy” his reputation by saying that he interfered with a rape case involving personal friend, Alexandru Hossu.

In his lawsuit, which he filed against Smith as an individual and not as a county employee in order to free tax payers of any liability, Levy said after he recused himself from the rape case against Hossu, the Sheriff still accused him of having “ongoing and improper involvement”, trying to influence its outcome.

In March of this year, Levy issued a news release saying in part: “Mr. Levy’s comments and actions would seem to suggest that, if he could have his own way, Mr. Hossu would never have been brought to justice for his crime and Mr. Levy’s relationship with him would never have been brought to light of public scrutiny.”

Levy, who said Hossu had been a frequent houseguest at his home between 2011 and 2012, said Smith gave out his home address knowing that Hossu was only staying with him temporarily and he had a place of his own.

Sheriff Smith however denied ever trying to destroy Levy’s reputation adding that the timing of the lawsuit was “blatantly political”, implying that it was intended to damage his re-election campaign.

Hossu, who is also Levy’s personal trainer, is accused of raping a 13-yeyar-old girl, to which he has pleaded not guilty.

In addition to Levy recusing himself and his office from the case, Putnam County judges have also recused themselves, so the case is being handled by a judge and prosecutors in Westchester County.

Smith is running for re-election in November.

Greenwich resident Judge Judy issued a statement calling her son “principled, honorable and dedicated.”  She said when “someone attacks his character professionally or personally they best prepared to back it up…shut up or pay up.”

Both Levy and Smith are Republicans.

Internation custody battle between banker Fred Skolnick and wife, Andrea Wainer, led police to the home of Greenwich residents Deborah and Hugh Hall

Greenwich police were called to a home on Mayfair Lane by a house guest who said her estranged husband forced his way inside and snatched their 3-year-old daughter.

The call was placed by Andrea Wainer, who until May of this year, was living with her banker husband, Fred Skolnick, and their five children in Singapore.

The home at 26 Mayfair Lane, is owned by Deborah and Hugh Hall, longtime friends of Andrea Wainer.

According to legal documents filed by Skolinck in Brooklyn Federal Court, he and his estranged wife were in the middle of setting up a custody agreement, when Wainer fled the Asian city with their five children.

The former Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers banker said his estranged wife returned to the U.S., and was hiding out in the Hall’s vacation home in Maine.

Skolnick, originally from Long Beach, Long Island, returned to the U.S. and went directly to Maine court, where he filed paperwork claiming that his kids were in the care of Deborah Hall, whom he said has a substance abuse and alcohol problem.

The judge granted Skolnick custody of his children saying “[they were] in jeopardy of serious harm due to Andrea Wainer leaving them in the sole care of a person whom she knows has a substance abuse and alcohol problems and who in the past has exhibited dangerous and risky behavior with the children.” However, by the time Skolnick got to the Maine house, his wife and kids were all gone.

Wainer and the kids had driven to Greenwich, where they were locked up in the Hall’s home at 26 Mayfair Lane.

Last Friday, Skolnick went to the Hall’s home to get his children and left with his 3-year-old daughter.

According to Wainer’s lawyer, Phil Russell, Skolnick forced his way “through the front door and snatched the only child who wasn’t fast enough or strong enough to get away from him.”

Russell said the child was not even wearing shoes.

Wainer, who claims that her husband abused her in Singapore, called the police then immediately went to Stamford Superior, where she filed for an order of custody and a full protective order against Skolnick, which were both granted.

As of press time the 3-year-old girl was still with Skolnick.

Deborah Hall, who until April of this year, was in the middle of divorcing her husband Hugh.  As for her assault case, she is a court date scheduled for April 9, 2014

Authorities said Bruno Vaccarezza, of Cos Cob, was driving a rented 2013 Volkswagen Golf that crashed on the Sprain River Parkway in Greenburgh around 5:30 a.m. Sunday.

Vaccarezza, who had rented the vehicle from Enterprise Rent a Car in Stamford, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Also killed in the single vehicle accident were 20-year-old Norwalk resident Vincent Mendoza; Fernanda Gomez, 19, and Juliana Restrepo, 18, both from Port Chester.

Federal authorities arrested a 77-year-old local man on charges related to the massive Bernard Madoff’s Ponzi scheme.

Paul Konigsberg, a long-time friend of Madoff’s, surrendered to authorities early Thursday morning after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

He pled not-guilty to charges of conspiracy, falsifying financial records and lying to the feds about employee benefits.

Authorities said Konigsberg, of 19 Pinecroft Road, was the only outsider that Madoff trusted to help him carry out his scheme.

“Madoff needed the assistance of certain willing outsiders that could be trusted to handle otherwise suspicious activity,” prosecutors said in their indictment of the accountant.  “Paul Konigsberg, the defendant, was one of the people that Madoff could trust.”

It is alleged that Konigsberg, who worked as a senior partner at the now defunct accounting firm Konigsberg Wolf & Co., directed others to falsify records to conceal a fraud that cheated thousands of investors out of nearly $20 billion over decades.

According to the SEC, Konigsberg provided tax or accounting services for five of Madoff’s wealthiest and oldest clients who invested more than a billion dollars combines in BMIS.  In addition to getting fees directly from BMIS clients, it is alleged that Konigsberg also received a monthly fee of $15,000 or $20,000 as a “retainer” from Madoff, who is currently serving 150 years in prison.

Konigsberg is freed on $2 million bail pending a court appearance on Monday.

According to his lawyer, Konigsberg, who had been friends with Madoff since the 1980′s, lost more than $10 million when Madoff’s empire collapsed in 2008.

For Sale: $30 million Brooklyn home……for real!!!!

$
0
0

If money was not an issue and you were looking to purchase a $30 million mansion, would you purchase the old Mel Gibson home in Backcountry Greenwich, or would you purchase one in Brooklyn?

A 15,000 square foot home with an 8000-square guest house in the Mill Basin section of Brooklyn just went on the market for $30 million.

This mansion, located at 2458 National Drive, comes with four kitchens, half-a-dozen boat docks and 257 feet of Jamaica Bay frontage.

The mansion, owned by Galina Anissimova- the ex-wife of one of Russia’s wealthiest businessmen, is said to be the most expensive individual property to ever hit the real estate market in Brooklyn.

Anissimova purchased the main home in 1996 for $3 million and four years later, she purchased the neighbor’s property for $700,000 and immediately ripped it down and replaced it with an 8000-square foot guest house.

Additional features to this mansion are: a 1,000-square foot outdoor swimming pool, 10 bedrooms and a garage big enough for seven cars.

For the same amount of money I would purchase the Mel Gibson mansion, at least it looks like a home.  The Brooklyn mansion looks too much like a commercial building!!!

A 59-year-old Maryland man was arrested in Connecticut this week after he tried to use two stolen credit cards at two different jewelry stores in Greenwich.

Authorities said Thomas J. Wilson, of Gambrills, MD., first tried to use a credit card belonging to a “Gary Filed” on November 9, at Betteridge Jewelers.

They said he tried to purchase $56,175 worth of jewelry but the card was declined.  The store contacted the police but by the time they arrived Wilson had already left the store without incident.

On November 12, Wilson returned to Greenwich and tried to use a different credit card belonging to a “Wayne Land” at a different jewelry store and this time he was arrested.

Police said they were able to arrest Wilson, who also had a fake driver’s licenses in the card holders’ names, by working with the merchants.

After Wilson tried to use the first stolen card police contacted Lux, Bond & Green and asked them to be on the lookout for “Mr. Field”.  They also provided the store with a description of suspect.   Three days later when Wilson returned to town and tried to purchase a $8,950 Rolex GMT watch, employees at the store recognized him and called the cops.

When he was first questioned by police Wilson gave his name as “Wayne Land” and presented them with a driver’s license, which turned out to be bogus.

It was while he was at Greenwich Police Headquarters, where he was fingerprinted, his true identity was revealed.

He was charged with identity theft, forgery and second degree larceny.

Police said Wilson is also wanted in New York on two felony warrants.  Details on those charges were not available at press time.

Wilson has been arrested in the past for armed robberies, aggravated assault and narcotics offenses.

After 11 years in prison former Greenwich resident Michael Skakel is today a free man, temporarily that is.

Skakel, a member o the Kennedy family, was released from prison today on $1.2 million by Superior Court Judge Gary White.

Judge White also ordered him not to leave the state of Connecticut and demanded that he wears a GPS tracking device.

Skakel was convicted of killing 15-year-old Martha Moxley in 1975; however, last month Judge Thomas Bishop tossed out the conviction agreeing with Skakel that his lawyer at the time, Mickey Sherman, failed to adequately defend him at his 2002 trial.

Judge Bishop also suggested that prosecutors investigate Skakel’s brother, Thomas, who was the last person to have seen Moxley alive.

No word on whether Skakel plans to move back to Greenwich.

The report says when the victim tried calling 911 Parillon grabbed the phone from her and broke it.

The victim managed to escape and made her way to police headquarters.  She was  later taken to Greenwich Hospital for evaluation.

When questioned by police at his home, Parillon agreed that he and his wife had been arguing, but he denied hitting her.  He said his wife had been drinking and she suffered the cuts on her face when she fell.  He said he only grabbed her by the neck to prevent her from falling again.  He also said that he accidentally broke her phone.

In addition to strangulation charges, Parillon was charged with interfering with a 911 call.

This is not the first time that Parillon was arrested for assaulting his wife.  In July of this year he was arrested in Westport for assaulting her in the parking lot of Mansion Clam House.  He was charged with disorderly conduct for that offense.

An update on that case was not available at press time.
