A 46-year-old Greenwich man was arrested early Monday morning after his 50-year-old wife told officers he strangled and threatened to kill her in their Cos Cob home.
Police charged Franklyn Parillon, of 192 Bible Street, with second-degree strangulation after his wife told officers he put a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her.
It is said the Parillon’s wife showed up at police headquarters around 2:00 a.m. Monday with a bruised face and her clothing disheveled.
The police report says the victim and her husband were arguing when he grabbed her by the back of her neck and punched her in the face multiple times before throwing her into a cabinet. He then grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened to kill her.
The report says when the victim tried calling 911 Parillon grabbed the phone from her and broke it.
The victim managed to escape and made her way to police headquarters. She was later taken to Greenwich Hospital for evaluation.
When questioned by police at his home, Parillon agreed that he and his wife had been arguing, but he denied hitting her. He said his wife had been drinking and she suffered the cuts on her face when she fell. He said he only grabbed her by the neck to prevent her from falling again. He also said that he accidentally broke her phone.
In addition to strangulation charges, Parillon was charged with interfering with a 911 call.
This is not the first time that Parillon was arrested for assaulting his wife. In July of this year he was arrested in Westport for assaulting her in the parking lot of Mansion Clam House. He was charged with disorderly conduct for that offense.
An update on that case was not available at press time.
